So Affilicon 2008 just finished and I’ve gotta tell ya, I was impressed! Not just because the event had such a great turnout, but also because of the type of people in attendance. There was a great mix of incredibly talented individuals and companies, many of whom were well worth meeting.
The first day started with the ‘organic seo’ session and I was lucky enough to be included on the panel alongside some great Israeli seo guys. I gave a short presentation on link building in 2009, it was my first public speaking event and although I was a little nervous I got the general feeling that audience liked what I had to say and that they managed to leave with some good tips and ideas. I am not the biggest fan of presentations that don’t really give you something practical and useful you can go home with, so hopefully I achieved that.
The rest of the day was spent networking, eating great food and making some wacky videos that I doubt will make it online!
The official party in the evening was quality, the mix of people and free alcohol worked a treat and the Matan Media team ended up being one of the last to leave. Well played to the boys from Karaktr Media and Jamal from NeverBlue for hanging with us.
Day 2 was filled with more networking and although it was a little quieter we still managed to catch a great session on social media marketing.
